37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
Nearly two-third or 67% of India’s 67 million small and medium businesses do not have access to digital technology, according to a study by audit and consulting firm Deloitte.
This is despite the Narendra Modi-led government’s emphasis on digital empowerment and the sector’s potential to create the most jobs in the country.
“Nearly 67% of the SMBs in India are not even on technology deployment curve. Right policy framework is needed to boost technology adoption among these businesses,” Deloitte India director Prakash Chandra Prabhakar said.
