37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
Parliamentary secretary agriculture and chairman NSAMB Dr. Benjongliba Aier has stressed on usage of fertilizers, saying until this was given due importance productivity would go down and the “Vision 2025: Food for all” might not be achieved.
Addressing the review meeting of the department of Agriculture at the conference hall, directorate of the Agriculture here Wednesday, Dr. Benjong stated that state was still in a transitional period where the quantum of production was still low and because of which the target in market remained very low.
He said when the Organic Policy was introduced, usage of fertilizers went down and questioned whether vision 2025 would be achievable or was it only in paper. He said while population would continue to grow, land would not grow.
With regard to this, Dr.Benjong emphasised on the need of maintaining productivity and also encouraged the department for inter and multi-cropping for sustainability.
