37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is arguing in favour of freedom of speech in the Supreme Court after the filing of some defamation cases against the AAP leader.
But Kejriwal-led government in Delhi has decided to take legal action against media for news that might be “defamatory” in nature.
The Directorate of Information has issued a circular asking the Delhi government officials to lodge a complaint if they feel that a news item – print or broadcast – is damaging the reputation of the chief minister, ministers, or the government. The complaint will be examined by the law department and take legal action if there is sufficient ground, the circular said.
