KGCA Plea to Implement e-governance in Department

E-governance should be implemented in the Public Works Department and Kerala Water Authority to make the procedures in their offices more effective, Kerala Government Contractors’ Association (KGCA) president Varghese Kannampally told a press meet here on Saturday.

“Still there are some unnecessary procedures for sanctioning the work bills in these departments. The circle offices and sub-division offices should be wound up and the section-division offices should be strengthened. Even now the files, which are approved by a senior officer, are going through many other hands. Instead of that they should be deployed for field duty. CPWD had already introduced that system,” he said. “Laboratories should be started in section offices. Consultancies should be formed to check the income of the employees and the departments,”
