37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
It’s ok to be confused. Like I am. Every time I read the newspapers or watch news on television I’m wrought with confusion. A few weeks ago there was a furor about AIB. Then Tamil writer Perumal Murugan gave up writing because of pressure from a community against his novel. Now Puliyur Murugesan has been beaten up by the Gounder community and lies in the hospital for a fictional story. Furthermore I read that censor board is divided against passing the film Fifty Shades Of Grey and Anushka Sharma’s NH-10 because of `excessive sex and violence’ respectively. As a staunch advocate of free speech I’m appalled and froth at the mouth. And each time the only argument these forces seem to have is that our nation is not ready for this kind of freedom. My entire being disagrees with this notion.
