Punjab: NHRC asks state human rights body to take notice of missing children

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked the Punjab State Human Rights commission (PSHRC) to take action into the case of 35 missing children – 24 girls and 11 boys – who were missing under mysterious circumstances, some from as long as January 2013.
Vinod Kumar Tikoo, chairperson of the Working Group on Substance Abuse among Children has filed a complaint with the NHRC and requested that it issue directions to the Punjab government and Jalandhar police to trace the missing kids as soon as possible.
