Rs 20 crore earmarked for PMC’s FB account, Twitter handle

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will maintain a Facebook account and a Twitter handle to interact with members of the public . A provision of around Rs 20 crore has been made in the budget for IT infrastructure, which includes activities on digital media communication platforms.

The budget states that a digital grievance redressal system would be developed for communicating with people. “It is time to upgrade to m-governance from e-governance. More emphasis should be given on use of social media for interacting with public. The social media accounts should start functioning in six months,” the draft said.
